I agree with PNoy not considering the Freedom of Information Bill as a priority because there are bigger problems in the Philippines that should be tackled first.
If you take a look at the LEDAC Meeting notes, the prioritized bills look like it was chosen based on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs.
The highest (which involves the FOI bill) will be dealt with after all the basic needs of the pyramid has been taken care of. I and fellow blogger J. Rocas are worried that, while the bill has been in limbo since 2008, it maybe forgotten and be left to PNoy’s successor. I hope that the Senate and Congress would prioritize this as it will help them in their investigations into government corruption.
